Photography Open Salon is a global platform in space, in print and on screen for great photographic art and the discourse that surrounds it.
Founded as an artist-led initiative, it is designed to share, promote and exhibit photographic stories and expressions, and enable new photographic work to be seen, communicated, commissioned and published by creating new audiences, dialogues, followers and collectors. Since its inception in 2011 Photography Open Salon has exhibited over 200 photographers from 45 countries on two continents, and enabled them to exhibit and have exposure during and alongside the renowned international photography festival Les Rencontres d’Arles (in collaboration with Galerie Huit) and in South-East Asia (in collaboration with China House). The exhibited work has been published in two books ‘Transience’ and ‘An Eye for an Ear’. Both books are part of 2013 Rencontres d’Arles Book Award selection and ‘An Eye for an Ear’ hardback was recently shortlisted and a runner up at the British Book Design and Production Awards 2013 in the Digitally Printed Category.
Photography Open Salon invites new submissions via an Open Call based on a theme or a subject. The work is curated and exhibited in exceptional settings to offer maximum exposure for the artists. The selected work is also published in a book.
Photography Open Salon will soon be inviting new submissions for London 2014 and South East Asia 2014 on the theme ‘Spectrum of Truth’ 100 selected photographers will be exhibited. The work will also be published in a new book.
